Emergency Dentistry

Prompt evaluation and treatment for toothaches, broken teeth, lost fillings or crowns, dental infections, and other urgent dental concerns.

Emergency Dental Care

Dental emergencies can happen unexpectedly and often require prompt attention to relieve pain, prevent further damage, and protect your oral health. Whether you have a severe toothache, a broken tooth, a lost filling or crown, swelling, or another urgent dental concern, Dr. Zuckerberg will evaluate your situation and recommend the most appropriate treatment.

If your emergency occurs during normal office hours, please call our office so we can assist you as quickly as possible.

If your emergency occurs after hours, on a weekend, or when the office is closed, please submit an appointment request describing your symptoms and the circumstances of your emergency. We review messages as soon as possible during normal business hours and will contact you regarding the next available appointment.

If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, severe facial trauma, uncontrolled bleeding, or difficulty breathing or swallowing, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.

Common Dental Emergencies We Treat

Dr. Zuckerberg and the team at Adams Morgan Family Dentistry provides evaluation and treatment for many urgent dental concerns, including:

  • Severe toothaches
  • Broken or chipped teeth
  • Cracked teeth
  • Lost fillings
  • Lost crowns or bridges
  • Dental infections or abscesses
  • Swelling or facial pain
  • Broken dentures
  • Loose or damaged restorations

Treatment recommendations will depend on your specific condition and may include restorative treatment, root canal therapy, or referral to a specialist when appropriate.

Prompt Evaluation Matters

Many dental emergencies become more difficult—and more expensive to treat—when they are ignored. Seeking evaluation as soon as possible often allows for simpler treatment and helps prevent additional complications.

Even if you are unsure whether your situation is an emergency, we encourage you to contact our office so we can help determine the appropriate next step.
